Eddie and Alisha Edwards are not leaving TNA anytime soon.
First, Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that the married couple has re-signed their deals with TNA Wrestling, The promotion would eventually confirm the exciting news on their social media.
Eddie has been in TNA for over ten years. The 41-year-old started out in the company with Davey Richards as the American Wolves and won the TNA World Tag Team titles on numerous occasions. In 2016, he branched out into singles competition and won the X-Division Championship. Eddie cashed in “Option C” and eventually won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. Eddie has been a prominent staple in TNA/Impact Wrestling for years and that isn’t changing anytime soon due to his involvement with The System faction.
His wife, Alisha, started in TNA around 2008, but she wasn’t a TNA regular until 2017. However, Alisha didn’t find her groove until 2023 and has won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles. She’s an important part of The System faction and Alisha has found the ability to nicely generate heel heat. Given all of the options these days in wrestling, it might be shocking for some that Alisha and Eddie opted to remain in the company, but to the couple, they’ve called TNA their home for years.
“I think we’ve made it known over the years that this is our home.” Eddie told Last Word on Pro Wrestling. “TNA is our home, and we hope to keep it that way, hopefully, this is the news going forward. I think the bigger news would be if we didn’t resign. So hopefully that day won’t come. And we’re happy to say that we are part of TNA going forward.”
He added, “We’ve both been there through some rough times and, as well as the pandemic, COVID, and no crowds, and we’ve built it up to this. It’s been very important to all of us, everyone that’s been involved to build this company back to where we know it belongs and even higher than it’s ever been.”
Edwards is fresh off a huge win with his System faction mates against NXT Champion Oba Femi and The TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt & Jeff Hardy. Eddie is also being advertised for the upcoming Sacrifice pay-per-view. At the moment, Alisha doesn’t have a match, but she’ll surely be at ringside with the System.
