Andrade has once again left World Wrestling Entertainment, for reasons that are still not yet clear.
In a joint report from Bodyslam and Fightful Select, after it was observed that Andrade's WWE Superstars page was moved from the SmackDown roster over to the "alumni" section—something which is reserved for instances when talent leaves the company—some deeper digging has unveiled that he is indeed gone from the company.
As Fightful reports, they had reached out to WWE in August about his lack of being booked since fighting for the tag team titles at SummerSlam, and were told "If it was possible, he would be." He had not been on any internal injury list to suggest that he was out of action for those reasons, though nothing has been clarified yet as to what these issues are that have led to his departure from the company.
Andrade had originally signed to WWE in November 2015. After a few months performing under the name "Manny Andrade", he made his proper NXT debut under the name Andrade "Cien" Almas in May 2016, eventually going on to defeat Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in 2017.
In April 2018, Andrade was traded over to the SmackDown roster in the Superstar Shake-up. For several years, he worked as a midcard to upper-midcard talent, capturing the United States Championship along the way. However, he was granted his request to be released from WWE in March 2021.
On June 4, 2021, Andrade made his debut for All Elite Wrestling on AEW Dynamite, rebranding himself "Andrade El Idolo" where he found himself in very much the same position on this new roster. Ultimately, after a match against Miro at AEW Worlds End in December 2023, Andrade left All Elite Wrestling as well, returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble in January.
Unfortunately, things quickly went nowhere for Andrade once again on his second run in WWE. In June 2024, Andrade defeated Ricochet to win the WWE Speed Championship—a hollow accomplishment given how matches only aired on X and the program was rarely ever mentioned on primary WWE programming, similar to how the company puts no effort in getting fans to tune in to WWE Main Event. By November, Andrade lost this title to Dragon Lee.
There was an up-swing in Andrade's career trajectory here and there, including participation in the Money in the Bank ladder match in both 2024 and 2025, as well as feuding over the United States Championship and pairing with Rey Fenix to go after the WWE Tag Team Championship, leading to the Six-Pack TLC match that was his most recent match at SummerSlam.
Nothing has been reported yet about Andrade's reason for leaving, whether it was his choice or WWE's, or what his future goals will be—whether that is a return to AEW or elsewhere. Stay tuned to The Ring Report for updates when available.
