Big Changes Planned For Finn Balor Following Last Night's SMACKDOWN - SPOILERS

As promised, Roman Reigns put his Universal Championship on the line against Finn Balor during last night's episode of SmackDown. The Head of the Table had a little help from The Usos and managed to retain his title, but as Reigns was making his way to the back, the sound of a heartbeat ran out through the arena as the lights flickered red.

What does it mean? Well, despite Balor saying multiple times in interviews that he doesn't want to bring "The Demon" back now he's The Prince, that is indeed what WWE has planned.

It's likely the match will take place at Extreme Rules, especially with WWE holding off on pitting Reigns against Brock Lesnar. Unfortunately, that probably means The Demon will just be a stepping stone to The Big Dog as he continues to defeat everyone, and seeing as the company dropped the ball on this gimmick the last time Balor was on the main roster...well, we're not optimistic!

Next week is a "Super SmackDown" from Madison Square Garden in New York City, and it was confirmed last night that Lesnar will return during the show. Chances are we could see The Demon as well, but it's also possible WWE is taking a slow burn approach to this particular storyline.

Check out some highlights from Reigns vs. Balor below:

So if Reigns beats The Demon then they are pretty much saying Balor will never be a serious threat to Reigns.

I guess that's the problem with having a gimmick like the Demon. If he always wins as the Demon, then you have to wonder why he doesn't just always wrestle as the Demon. But if he loses as the Demon, then Balor is pretty much buried forever against that person. Because if he can beat the Demon, then Balor should be no problem.
