Big E Shares Update After Breaking Neck During SMACKDOWN; Original WRESTLEMANIA Plans Revealed

During last night's episode of SmackDown, Big E took a nasty bump during a Belly to Belly spot with Ridge Holland that saw him land on his head. The New Day member was stretchered out of the building and later took to social media to confirm he suffered a broken neck.

Thankfully, he's now shared a far more positive update with fans. "I got some really good news, all things considered," Big E says in the video below. "The C1 and C6 are indeed fractured, non-displacement though which is a very good thing and I don’t have any damage to my spinal cord, no ligament damage, and no surgery which I’m very thankful for."

While this is indeed good news, Big E is likely to be sidelined for months and will miss WrestleMania.

According to Fightful Select, WWE planned to have The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods) face Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and "Butch" (formerly known as Pete Dunne before being rebooted by Vince McMahon) at the Show of Shows. Needless to say, that sadly won't be happening now.

Needless to say, we wish the former WWE Champion a speedy recovery!
