During last night's RAW, it was confirmed that The Vision's Bron Breakker is injured and out "indefinitely." That's a major problem for WWE heading into WrestleMania, especially as the rising star has been a focal point of the Monday night show for months.
According to PWInsider, after flipping over the announce table at ringside, Breakker inadvertently injured himself and needed to undergo surgery days later.
"We are told that Bron Breakker was hurt during last Monday's RAW when he flipped the table over," the report stated. "We are also told that by Wednesday, 2/4, it was determined he was going to require surgery for a hernia."
All signs pointed to the former NXT Champion facing a returning Seth Rollins at the Show of Shows, after being targeted by a mystery hooded figure—using Rollins' moves—in recent weeks (leading to him being immediately eliminated from the Royal Rumble by Oba Femi after entering at #2).
A recent report from Fightful Select said that Breakker was praised for working through the pain and shared that sources in WWE are optimistic about him being back in time for WrestleMania.
However, F4W/WON has shared a slightly less optimistic update today, explaining that Breakker could be sidelined for anywhere from 12 weeks to 6 months due to the severity of his hernia.
This comes at a bad time for both him and The Vision. With Paul Heyman by his side, he was well on track to become WWE's next big thing, but the injury will halt his momentum.
Interestingly, this comes as Triple H is reportedly facing some criticism within the company for his handling of WrestleMania. "They’re very disappointed with the advance. It’s down about 18% from last year," Dave Meltzer said. "So there’s been a lot of internal criticism of Paul Levesque, as far as they keep changing the plans, essentially, like Vince. They have a plan, and then they change the plan."
"The problems are number one, ticket prices are really high, higher than last year. Number two, a lot of foreigners won’t come to the United States right now. I mean, tourism in Vegas is down," he explained. "That’s one of the reasons why WrestleMania is there again, because tourism is down, and it’s down throughout the United States, but Vegas has been hit hard."
Stay tuned for updates on Breakker and WrestleMania as we have them.
