Triple H is WWE's Chief Content Officer, and while most fans and wrestlers agree that the company is in a much better place than when Vince McMahon was calling the shots, not everyone is a fan of The Game.
AEW star MVP has talked a lot about his frustration with Triple H's handling of The Hurt Business. Eventually, the entire faction—including Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin—made the leap to AEW, where they've been pushed as a main event faction.
During a recent edition of his podcast, Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, MVP hit out at Benjamin being "unceremoniously released," arguing that he should have been offered a job as a producer or trainer. That ultimately played a role in his departure.
"I made up my mind that I don’t want to be here anymore. And if Triple H is in charge, then I definitely want to be here. Because I don’t like Triple H. I don’t respect Triple H. I think he’s a coward and a liar," he stated. "And there have been many situations where he was dealing with Bobby, where he didn’t tell Bobby the truth, creatively what he wanted to do."
"There are multiple times that I tried to talk to him. And he would always [say], 'I’ll get with you in a little bit,' or the few times that I got a chance to get him in his office alone, he would call somebody to come in. He didn’t want to deal with me. I don’t respect that. Tell me. I’m a professional. Tell me how you feel. We’re doing business."
"Triple H wouldn’t give Bobby one-on-one time. Bobby wanted to talk to Triple H about, 'Hey, what’s my direction? What am I doing here?'" MVP continued. "Triple H always had something to come up. Other people had all the access they wanted."
Coincidentally, Carlito recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet and opened up on his WWE release last summer and the role he believes Triple H played in his departure from the company (where he'd been a member of The Judgement Day).
"I’ve never been Hunter’s favourite. I don’t think he gets Carlito or the character, so it is what it is," he explained. "So yeah, I was gonna make whatever I did work, you know what I mean. And so, yeah, so Judgment Day came by, and it was fun for me."
"I’m pretty sure I’ll pop up again somewhere, you know? I mean, some kind of legends thing or something," Carlito later said of a possible WWE return if the call comes. "Who knows? I got a couple of ideas of just random appearances."
