Cesaro Expresses Disappointment And Frustration With Not Being Part Of This Year's ROYAL RUMBLE Match

WWE Superstar Cesaro has admitted to being disappointed that he wasn't part of this year's Royal Rumble match, admitting that he sometimes cares too much about the way he's booked in WWE. Read on for details...

This year's Men's Royal Rumble has been widely criticised, with Shane McMahon taking most of the blame. There were certainly a lot of glaring errors, including the decision to give Bad Bunny and Shane himself big roles in the match (both were, unbelievably, part of the final four).

One of the biggest complaints online has been the fact there was no sign of former Intercontinental and United States Champion Cesaro. Now, he's opened up on that talking to Sports Illustrated

"Yes, I was," he said when asked if he was disappointed. "A lot of people would have liked to see me in the Rumble, and a lot of people would have liked to see me win. That would have put me on the next path of my journey. I saw Big E say in an interview he’d like to see me win, and that was very nice. I appreciate the support of my colleagues, but unfortunately, that did not happen."

"I do care, a lot," Cesaro pondered. "Maybe almost too much sometimes."

"If you’re tuning in to SmackDown to watch me, you will get the top in-ring performance I can give. It’s an unrelenting pursuit of excellence," he continued. "That’s the only thing that I can control. I don’t get a lot of mic time or interview time, but every time I step through the curtain and get in that ring, you will get that super high standard I set for myself. I will accept nothing less in the ring."

It's unclear how long Cesaro has left on his WWE contract or whether he would be interested in heading to another company. At this point, it's apparent WWE doesn't view the Swiss Superman as a top Superstar, and we can't help but think he'd be much better off in AEW or IMPACT Wrestling.

Were you disappointed when Cesaro didn't make his Royal Rumble entrance?

He should be. Dude's a wonderful talent and he gets shafted constantly. And this year he wasn't even in the Royal Rumble. Yet they had room for Bad Bunny, Johnny Knoxville, and Shane.

Oh of COURSE he'd be better off in AEW, just like all the others that are used so brilliantly over there like... Erm... Hang on, I'll think of someone eventually.

AEW does not mean their grass is greener.

@Galvatron75 - It kind of does. Good money. Full control over their character and gimmick. Lighter amount of days to work. Ability to wrestle for other promotions. These are all big draws.

And while I can't say Andrade has been handled the best, Mox, Danielson, Punk, and Malakai Black are all being handled wonderfully.
