The leader of American Made, Chad Gable, has been absent for a few weeks as he has been on a mission to study the dark arts of lucha libre in order to better understand how to combat the luchadors in WWE.
He was given a name by "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, but we were not privy to that information.
In the meantime, the rest of the faction—Ivy Nile and The Creed Brothers—set a goal to win some championship gold by the time he comes back from his journey.
As such, they've been even more on the attack in their respective divisions, which led to two title matches taking place on tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
Ivy Nile, who has been gunning for Lyra Valkyria's Women's Intercontinental Championship since the title was even announced (and failed to win the inaugural tournament to win it), has had a rough road to get to this opportunity. She eliminated Valkyria in the Women's Royal Rumble match, but lost a No. 1 contender's bout to Dakota Kai, who had been the runner-up in the tournament. After Kai lost to Valkyria last week, Nile went on the attack, and was given this chance to make good on all her threats.
Unfortunately for her, she wasn't able to beat Valkyria, who stood tall in the ring with her title in-hand despite having her leg worked on by Nile throughout the match.
Later in the show, Brutus Creed and Julius Creed had their bid for the World Tag Team Championships come to a crashing halt as Erik and Ivar were just too powerful, retaining their titles by hitting their War Machine double-team finisher and pinning Brutus.
But American Made didn't leave this episode entirely empty handed, as it was actually Master Gable who ended up with something new and coveted in his possession.
In a vignette segment, Gable was seen showing a picture to various people in what was supposed to be a meat market in Mexico, asking them if they knew the man in the photo (which we aren't able to see). Eventually, he would be approached by someone—possibly this man, maybe not, as the audience isn't shown who he is—and the two had an exchange where this man in a long gray beard told Gable that he can't fight what he doesn't understand, so he must become lucha.
This man offered Gable a box (for several hundred dollars), and told him that he now "wields powers beyond [his] understanding."
It wasn't revealed what was in the box, but my assumption is that it will be a luchador mask and we'll see Gable training in that style to lead up to something with Penta at WrestleMania 41.
What do you think is in the box? How should American Made bounce back after these losses? Drop your theories in the comments below!
