Bea Priestley is back home.
The Stardom President just confirmed that the 29-year-old has signed a deal.
The exact details of the deal are unknown, but it's no surprise that Priestley signed with the Japanese promotion. The former WWE star was released in February and Priestley was actually happy about it. Unfortunately, Priestley was barely used on WWE television as it didn’t seem that Triple H knew what to do with the former AEW star.
Since her release, Priestley immediately got back on the indie scene and didn’t hesitate to go to Stardom. She made her return in July and competed in the company’s annual Five Star Grand Prix. The tournament is essentially Stardom’s version of the G1 Climax. Priestley got into the playoffs, but she lost the first round to Rina.
Before WWE or AEW, Priestley made her debut for STRADOM in 2019. The former WWE star is a former World Of Stardom Champion and Goddesses Of Stardom Champion. Stardom is a big reason she became a hot commodity for AEW and WWE; the former didn’t really know how to use Priestley as well, though she was barely in AEW as she was released from her contract in 2020 due to the COVID restrictions that prevented her from leaving Japan.
Unlike WWE, Priestley was open to returning to AEW. She was there for less than a year, so AEW didn’t get much of an opportunity to really use her, especially when COVID hit. Priestley especially expressed her interest in facing Toni Storm during her interview with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic.
“Definitely now with Toni (Storm), everyone knows how close me and Toni are. We’re like sisters at this point. She lives in Orlando as well, we see each other fairly often. But I’m also along the lines of I’m definitely open to having conversations but I do also want a little bit of time just to do my own thing because I’ve just come out of a contract where it’s like you have an app. If you’ve got a dot on this day, you have to be there, you have to show up.
If you’re sore from the gym or you’ve had a hard match and they book you the next day, you can’t say you don’t feel like it. You have to go do it even when you don’t feel 100 percent or you don’t particularly feel wanting to do it. You just have to.”
Will we see Bea Priestley back in AEW? Only time will tell. But for now, she’s enjoying success down in Stardom.
