WWE is back in the mainstream and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was a guest on yesterday evening's The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
The show will air on NBC and the American Nightmare is set to defend his title against Kevin Owens after what's proven to be a heated rivalry between the two men.
Rhodes promised host Jimmy Fallon "an exceptional card, great matches, [and] great show," adding that "there might be a few surprises here and there." However, it was his thoughts on Owens that have received the most attention since the show aired.
"I’ll tell you a story, I started wearing suits all the time...it was around 2015. It just became this thing," Rhodes explained. "I wanted to represent wrestling and sports entertainment in a different way. So always suits, always customs."
"Typically what I’ll say is, 'I think they have an issue with their manhood,'" he said of those who take shots at him for wearing suits, specifically turning his attention to KO. "If you know...I don’t want to use any crass language here. It’s Thanksgiving. Yeah. I don’t want to say the word, you know...penis. But no one has been more frustrated and upset with the fact that I wear suits than Kevin Owens."
The Prizefighter has taken the jab in his stride, sharing a photo of himself wearing a John Cena t-shirt in what appears to be a shot back at Rhodes' admiration for the Leader of the Cenation.
Many fans are predicting a shock win for Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event, though it still feels more likely that Randy Orton will turn heel and take the championship from his former Legacy protégé.
