No one could quite believe it when AJ Styles beat Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship on a SmackDown Live taping in Manchester, England, but it was a smart move by WWE, especially as it meant that The Phenomenal One could then go on to Survivor Series to battle Brock Lesnar. Well, his rematch with the Modern Day Maharajah took place at Clash of Champions, so how did it play out?

Well, Styles managed to retain his title so it looks like we can forget about seeing Mahal with the championship as we move into WrestleMania season starting with the Royal Rumble next month.

It is, of course, possible that WWE will keep this feud going but now feels like the right time to end this and give Styles someone fresh to battle. He beat Mahal with the Calf Crusher despite interference from the Singh Brothers so his dominance over Mahal seems to have been well and truly established. What did you guys think of the Clash of Champions main event? Let us know down below.
