Drew McIntyre Reflects On Trolling The Internet Wrestling Community By Taking A Photo With AEW's Jack Perry

Drew McIntyre has looked back at trolling the IWC by taking a photo with CM Punk's real-life foe, AEW's Jack Perry, when they recently crossed paths. Find out how the Scottish Warrior made it happen here.

2024's best feud is almost certainly CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre; after the Second City Saint was injured by the Scottish Psychopath during the Royal Rumble, he made it his goal to torment McIntyre, going so far as to cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania

They continued to attack each other, leading to Punk and McIntyre clashing at SummerSlam (with the latter emerging victorious). Then, at Bash in Berlin, Punk scored a win in a Strap Match.

After McIntyre savaged the Best in the World on RAW this past Monday, the groundwork has been laid for the rivals to next go head-to-head at Bad Blood

Both men have kept this feud alive on social media (which was crucial when Punk was injured) but McIntyre took it to the next level when he stopped at the airport to take a photo with AEW's Jack Perry.

He and Punk have a storied history and it was a backstage fight with Perry at All In which led to Punk's eventual firing from AEW.

Talking to Chris Van Vliet, McIntyre revealed how the photo came to be. "I was flying to LA, and they just did a show the night before. I saw Roderick Strong at the airport, a buddy of mine, and we got to catch up. He was hitting an ROH show, I believe. And then on the flight, [I] just saw Jack."

"Had a little chat with him and his missus. And then we snapped a picture, and the internet had a freaking meltdown. It was hilarious."

He'd eventually take the photo down, of course, and addressed that by saying, "I think it lasted 45 minutes. And then the numbers I heard were 2 million impressions or something insane for 45 minutes. It was pretty wild. People enjoyed that immensely. So yeah, I’m always dancing on that line of what’s acceptable, not acceptable. Make people question things."

Does he know where the line is? "It’s probably back of 100 yards. That’s where I live," McIntyre noted. "And yeah, I just do what was fun, and then, did someone tell me? Didn’t someone tell me? Was it by design? Did I choose to remove it? I’ll never answer that question because I love people asking questions."

If you missed the photo that broke the IWC's corner of the internet, you can check it out in the X post below.

Once again, the wrestlers truly don't have the same level of tribalism and vitriol that some "fans" seem to have. They, like most of us normal folks, can just watch both big shows (and lots of indies!) and enjoy it all. But some muckraking "journalists" just won't miss a chance to stir the ol' pot.
