Rosters are shifting quite a bit lately in WWE with several NXT Superstars moving around to Raw and SmackDown, which has seen even more movement as of NXT New Year's Evil.
In a backstage segment on this episode, Ethan Page was in NXT General Manager Ava's office wherein he "reintroduced" her to The Vanity Project, referring to them as the future of the brand. Later on, Jackson Drake and Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) would reappear backstage in a different segment to hit on Lola Vice, who was backed up by Hank Walker and Tank Ledger telling The Vanity Project off. Vice said she was about to fight with them "on their first day", implying they should be considered NXT Superstars now. Drake is set to put his WWE EVOLVE Championship on the line tomorrow night against "Super" Sean Legacy, meaning it might be time for a title change, so stay tuned to TheRingReport for coverage of that show if that does happen.
Tate Wilder was shown in a backstage segment talking to Myles Borne, when they were confronted by Ethan Page, who complimented Wilder on his achievements in WWE EVOLVE. Nothing was stated about him moving up to NXT, but being given a spotlight like that may indicate WWE is eyeing him for a call-up.
That is in part because ending the night, Ava was shown in her office talking to a variety of different EVOLVE stars about how there would be room for some "NXT call-ups", given the talent moving away from NXT. In this, she mentioned Lash Legend, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, and confirmed that Jordynne Grace has officially moved on.
With Oba Femi heavily teased to also be joining the main roster after seemingly vacating the NXT Championship along with his vignettes that have been airing lately, and reports that he and Blake Monroe could be making the jump sooner rather than later, it looks like those two might have also been written off television on this episode. There is no confirmation of this just yet, though.
But at the beginning of the episode, a vignette also aired for a newcomer to the roster in Elio Lefleur—a French luchador who formerly went by Aigle Blanc, aka "The White Eagle". His debut date has not yet been announced.
