Former WWE Superstar Ryback Shares His Thoughts On Wrestlers Requesting Their Release Via Social Media

Once upon a time, a wrestler asking to be released from WWE via Twitter pretty much guaranteed that they'd be wished the best in their future endeavours. Things have changed, though, and Ryback now weighs in.

A topic that's been receiving a lot of attention in recent weeks is WWE Superstars who take to social media to ask for their release from the company. While that may have worked once upon a time, the likes of Sin Cara, Oney Lorcan, Mike Kanellis, and Luke Harper have all found that it's not quite so easy lately.

Now, former WWE Superstar Ryback has shared his thoughts on the matter and he believes that WWE wants talent to essentially do what they're told and not speak up when they're unhappy.

"This company has walked all over pro wrestlers for so long," he began. "The power to have more than one company to work for, the talent need to man up more than ever, but again, it’s a case by case basis. I had to wait until a certain point and I had been fed up far before that, I’m sure he is at a point where he is financially comfortable enough to take a chance."

"A guy like Mike Kanellis who hasn’t been there that long, you are taking more of a chance doing that, but I commend doing it,"
Ryback concluded.

While it's definitely interesting to get the perspective of someone who has requested their release from WWE, Ryback is very much a disgruntled ex-employee and things have changed a lot since he left thanks to the increase in interest in independent wrestling and the launch of AEW.

As a result, any Superstars hoping that taking to Twitter will get them out of their contracts are likely to be disappointed when all is said and done.
