Earlier this week, Kevin Owens underwent double knee surgery. The former Universal Champion was written off television as a babyface following a brutal attack from Bobby Lashley but fans hoping to see him make a triumphant return at the Royal Rumble may be disappointed by the news we have today.

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Owens isn't expected to be ready to return to action until late February or early March based on what was discovered during surgery. Apparently, his left knee was in a worse state than initially expected but the good news is that neither of them required full reconstructive surgery which would have led to a very long recovery.

The good news here is that Owens is going to be back in time for WrestleMania but whether or not WWE will hold off and have him return after the event remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates!
