As you may have noticed, WWE has started using fewer scripted promos in recent weeks and many Superstars have referred to real-life events as opposed to remaining solely within the "WWE Universe." Even Dana Brooke's promo on this Monday's RAW felt a lot more real the change has definitely been appreciated by wrestling fans.
Now, Dave Meltzer has revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company believes reality-based promos are the way to go because people are buying into them (Ronda Rousey is used as an example because many fans believe she legitimately hates wrestling).
The truth is that she loves it and is simply looking to make Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair even bigger stars before she leaves the company after WrestleMania. With any luck, this is the beginning of some big changes for WWE and it's definitely making the Road to WrestleMania a lot more exciting than normal.
