Here's Who Won The Men And Women's ROYAL RUMBLE Matches; Ronda Rousey Comments On WWE Return

The Royal Rumble PPV took place last night, and we now have a breakdown of what happened in both the Men and Women's matches, along with comments from Ronda Rousey following her surprise return to WWE.

Neither the Men nor Women's Royal Rumble matches were particularly good, but the stage has been set for some big WrestleMania matches. Sasha Banks entered at #1, but was later eliminated by Queen Zelina (likely setting up a program for the two women heading into the Show of Shows).

There were a lot of surprise "Legends," including Melina, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and Cameron, though none of them made much of an impact. Talking of IMPACT, Knockouts Champion Mickie James entered the match, only to get thrown over the top rope by WWE Hall of Famer Lita.

Sarah Logan, a former member of The Riott Squad released during the pandemic, was perhaps the biggest surprise, but things got really exciting when Ronda Rousey made her WWE return at #28. She tore through the remaining women, with it ultimately coming down to just the Baddest Woman on the Planet and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair; Rousey picked up the win by suplexing The Queen out of the ring, and rumour has it these two will now clash at WrestleMania.

As you can see below, Rousey appears to be in full heel mode (and it's about damn time).

Surprises on the men's side were few and far between, though AJ Styles put on a very impressive performance. Johnny Knoxville did a solid job taking some bumps, while Bad Bunny made his WWE return at #27. Shane McMahon showed up next, though Brock Lesnar hit the ring at #30 after losing the WWE Championship earlier in the night to make short work of those left.

He eliminated Drew McIntyre to win the bout and will likely challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of them All.

What did you think of the two Royal Rumble matches?

It was weak and predictable. As soon as Ronda came out you knew who was going to win. Same with Lesnar.

The best match by far was Rollins vs Reins. Not only was that the best match of the night, it was just an amazing match all around......until the finish. Typical WWE disqualification finish to keep the belt on someone. And now Mania will be Brock vs Reins. And Brock will win. Because we haven't seen that match a thousand times already. And heaven forbid they let someone like Rollins hold the belt for a bit.

@CorndogThief - Brock will win with shenanigans, after Heyman turns out to be a quadruple spy working for Lesnar all along, and then feud will drag out for many more months with Reigns trying to win back the belt as the baby face now, and likely succeeding at Sumerslam. By then we will all be grateful that it's finally over.

Same old boring result, probably end up being another main event we've already seen at Wrestlemania.

WWE needs to create or push new stars.

@marvel72 - Mania will be Brock vs Roman. Which is a feud we saw about 3 or 4 years ago with them main eventing something one 3 PPV's in a row.

@CorndogThief - Yup and then you'll have the main event of Wrestlemania again on the Raw that followed.
