When John Morrison returned to WWE, there was a lot of excitement among fans to see what the company would do with him after such a long time away. Unfortunately, they paired him straight back up with The Miz and Morrison never really got a chance to move past right-hand man/midcard status.
Earlier this month, Morrison was released by WWE and he's now broken his silence on that.
After expressing his gratitude with fans, Morrison confirmed it was John Laurinaitis who released him but noted that he "didn’t even get a best of luck in your future endeavors." He added: "I don’t know if it’s something that draws people to professional wrestling or something that happens to people when they’ve been in the business for a long enough time but my mind always races towards ways to pop the crowd, even at my own expense."
"The whole idea of making yourself look bad to make someone else look good, is a strange thing. But for me, it’s such an important part of what I do. And it’s a foreign concept to so many people."
That's obviously a reference to how he was booked, and Morrison even admits that his time in WWE was "nostalgic." He talks pretty positively about the whole experience (which is a surprise all things considered), and teases his future by signing off with, "The great thing about being a storyteller is when one chapter ends, another begins."
