When Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes decided to team with Roman Reigns to battle The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood, Kevin Owens wasn't happy.
After all, the Prizefighter has spent years battling the Original Tribal Chief's faction, being screwed out of win after win and finding himself on the end of countless beatdowns. Following the PLE, Owens snapped and attacked the American Nightmare outside the building in front of fans, leading to his suspension from WWE.
Unhappy with that, he tried to tell his side of the story on SmackDown this past week but ended up arguing with - and later attacking - Randy Orton.
Now, Owens has shared a video statement on social media issuing an ultimatum to WWE and making it clear that, if they don't air a recent promo of his on Friday night, he'll take matters into his own hands.
"Ever since Bad Blood there’s been a lot of questions about why I did what I did to Cody," KO says in the video below. "There’s been a lot of judgements too, people judging me for what I did. And as much as I’d love to explain myself and give my side of the story and speak my mind, WWE has not allowed me to do that."
"They have done the opposite actually, they’ve tried to shut me up it seems, because they wouldn’t let me come to SmackDown. They told me to stay home last Friday, even though I belong there. And when I showed up anyway they cut my mic, and did everything they could for me not to be able to talk."
"And then over the weekend I sent them a video that I hope they would air on RAW last night, but they didn’t," Owens continued. "So nobody could hear what I have to say, but of course, they have plenty of time for Cody, but not for me. And look the last thing I want to do is do this on social media, because I hate, I hate it."
"So I’m giving them until Friday, this Friday on SmackDown, to air my video so that people can hear what I have to say, and if they don’t, I guess I’ll post it here."
There's been a lot of speculation online about this being Owens' exit storyline but recent online reports suggest he's extremely close to signing a new deal which will keep him in WWE for the foreseeable future.
There's no way Triple H would want Owens to head to AEW, for example, so we're sure the company laid down whatever is necessary to keep him. Putting him in a high-profile storyline like this is also bound to have helped (we saw something similar with Drew McIntyre before he signed a new deal).
