Kofi Kingston Says He First Learned About Recent RAW Creative Plans For Him From WWE's Social Media

It's no secret that plans frequently change in WWE, and it's become commonplace for the company to announce matches for RAW and SmackDown that never take place (with zero explanation).

However, you'd think that the wrestlers who work for the company would have at least some idea of what they're doing, right? Wrong. During a recent interview, former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston confirmed that he found out about his eight-man tag team match through social media!

"Oh, yeah, a lot of people ask us this all the time and you would be surprised. Usually, as performers, we are the last one’s to find things out," The New Day member explained. "This week and last week, I found out on Twitter what I was doing on RAW. It was announced I would be in an eight-man tag team match and I was like, ‘Oh, good to know. I need ta prepare.'"

"Same thing last week when we had the tag team turmoil, I had no idea until I looked on social media and I saw it. If I didn’t look on social media, I wouldn’t have known until I got to the building," Kingston continued. "Oftentimes, we have no idea what the show is going to entail, what we’re going to be doing on the show, and even then when we do know then things change."

This says a lot about the current state of the WWE product and explains why what we see on RAW and SmackDown each week feels so poorly put together. There's no way Superstars can properly prepare and plan matches out in these circumstances, but when you have Vince McMahon tearing up the script right before the show goes on the air, perhaps there's just no point, eh?
