When WWE started teasing Otis' defection from Alpha Academy to Maximum Male Models, it looked like the end might be nigh for his partnership with Chad Gable.
Fans were quick to make it clear they didn't want to see Gable and Otis go their separate ways, however, and the company has since changed course. As a result, they've ditched Mace and Mansoor (who are reportedly being repackaged) and brought Maxxine Dupree into Alpha Academy.
In recent weeks, the trio has been targeted by The Viking Raiders, with Valhalla taking an unusual interest in Maxxine. As a result, the model/manager has begun training with Gable and Otis, and received quite the pop when she successfully pulled off a suplex on Monday Night RAW this week.
In reality, she's already a trained professional wrestler, but the idea seems to be to build to Maxxine getting ready for in-ring action as part of what we'd assume would be a six-person tag team match.
Durpi has helped freshen up Alpha Academy, transforming them into red hot babyfaces in the process, so it's a storyline worth keeping an eye on.
We're hoping WWE doesn't drop the ball with Maxxine because she has the potential to be a top star in the women's division. She's got pretty much everything the company looks for in a female talent, anyway, so we're sure she has a bright future.
