Yesterday was not a good day for WWE's Superstars with a total of ten releases taking place. The first wave included names like Samoa Joe, Bo Dallas, and Mickie James (you can find the full list here), but a tenth name was added to the list hours after those were all announced.
That is former 24/7 Champion Mojo Rawley. It's been a long time since we've seen him on TV, with his last match way back in June 2020. WWE attempted to repackage him, but his "broken" gimmick really didn't resonate with wrestling fans, and his biggest achievement in recent memory was probably being part of what his real-life friend Rob Gronkowski did at WrestleMania 36.
Here's the official announcement:
Billie Kay, meanwhile, has issued a statement on her WWE departure saying, "They have fulfilled my dreams entirely from being a 10-year-old girl that fell in love with WWE from the moment I saw The Rock on TV and now I’m walking away with so many incredible moments from Super Showdown in front of my friends and family, to winning the tag team championships at Wrestlemania."
You can read the full statement below, but she later expressed thanks to her fellow member of The IIconics, Peyton Royce. "And thank you to my life partner, Cassie. Our journey started together and it’s only fitting that it ends together." Needless to say, we're expecting them to team up again somewhere...
