As is so often the case, this year's WrestleMania will be followed by a number of departures and we can count Chris Jericho and John Cena among them. That's something we've known about for a while of course, but more details have been revealed today which shed some light on what's to come for the two fan-favourite veteran WWE Superstars.
For starters, The Wrestling Observer reports that Y2J is likely to remain with WWE at least a few weeks after WrestleMania before he tours with his band Fozzy from May 5th to May 27th. However, the site notes that Jericho has been pulled from all May shows but is it being advertised for those which take place in June, a sign that he won't be gone for long.
As for John Cena, he's expected to depart the company once again immediately after the Showcase of the Immortals and we now know at least one of the reasons why. He's signed up for a leading role in the Daddy's Home sequel, something which makes perfect sense following his cameo appearance at the end of the successful first instalment.
He'll star alongside Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, and Linda Cardellini, but there's sadly no words on how long this will keep him out of action. Cena will likely be back in time for SummerSlam, but with a leading role in a movie like this, he'll be busy with that for at least a couple of months, taking him off the board for most of the summer.
