It's now been more than a month since we last saw Jade Cargill on WWE programming, leaving fans to wonder what the plan is for the former AEW star.
WWE made a point of showing off its latest acquisition, but following this extended absence, PWInsider has today shared an update. Cargill hasn't been forgotten and continues to train at the WWE Performance Center at least one or two days a week; no specific date has been chosen for a debut on television, but WWE does view her as a "strong talent" who will be a big part of the company moving forward.
As a result, there's no rush to throw her into the mix on RAW, SmackDown, or NXT!
Talking at the Survivor Series: WarGames press conference this past Saturday, Triple H also addressed what's happening with Cargill when he said, "I have no less belief in her now than I did then [when she signed with WWE]."
"It's interesting when she came in, we talked about her development and where she would land," he continued. "But where the development was, I wanna make sure that no matter what is thrown at Jade Cargill, she's ready, and at no fault of her own, I think that she was limited in that."
As for why she was highlighted on television before seemingly being ready for a full-blown debut, The Game added, "We exposed her, we made her be seen. People are understanding, and they're waiting, and they're excited for her to come. And when she does, it's going to be massive."
When Cody Rhodes made the leap from AEW to WWE, he was - and still is - treated like a very big deal. Some might argue Vince McMahon initially wanted to stick it to Tony Khan after one of his founding EVPs returned home, but what about other wrestlers hoping to make the jump to the big time?
Well, despite this slight delay, they need only look at Cargill for proof WWE isn't looking to bury AEW talent and will treat those who have made a name for themselves there as huge stars.
Cargill recently said she's come to WWE to "create [a] legacy" and become a "household name," and was asked if she hit a glass ceiling as part of AEW.
"I wouldn't say it was a ceiling, I would just say that the route that I wanted to take was different and the route that I wanted to embark on was different and I didn't see over there where I could get it, and the only way I could do it was coming to the WWE Universe. So I bet on myself and I made the best decision by coming here."
Stay tuned for updates on Cargill as we have them.
