The final episode of WWE Monday Night Raw for 2025 wasn't the most bombastic edition ever produced, but it did at least feature a handful of noteworthy moments and a major title change to finish off the night.
There were two title bouts on this episode, with Stephanie Vaquer retaining the Women's World Championship in a Triple Threat match against Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez as the first to go down. Vaquer pinned Bella, which may play into future booking with Rodriguez getting another opportunity.
More importantly, the WWE World Tag Team Championship titles changed hands as AJ Styles and Dragon Lee lost the belts to The Usos in the main event. Jimmy and Jey Uso captured the titles for the ninth time after a 1D to Lee.
Also worth noting, Penta made his return to action after suffering an injury on the November 24th episode of Raw. He helped Rey Mysterio fight off Logan Paul and Austin Theory. Penta had been scheduled to team alongside his brother, Rey Femix, for AAA Guerra de Titanes, but had to be replaced by Mysterio to face Dirty Dom and El Grande Americano.
Unfortunately, there was confirmation of another injury to the roster in that Dominik Mysterio will be out indefinitely after suffering a shoulder injury in that match at AAA Guerra de Titanes.
In other news, WWE showcased three NXT Superstars on this episode, with a vignette hyping up Oba Femi (without announcing that he would be necessarily joining the brand any time soon), as well as Je'Von Evans backstage hanging out wherein he crossed paths with the now former tag team champions (with Styles and Lee saying they'd give Evans and Leon Slater another tag title rematch) and El Grande Americano, who Evans has had issues with for several weeks. Trick Williams was also backstage, speaking to Adam Pearce, as he continues his negotiations for an eventual main roster call up, as evidenced by his segment with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis on last week's episode.
Personal Reactions & What Happens Next?:
The Usos winning the tag team titles again was virtually inevitable. WWE only really cares about that division when the belts are on a tag team (or, rather, a set of two singles stars) that they actually want to write around, and The Usos are far more prominent in their minds than Styles and Lee were. I'm still curious what that pairing was all about, as it just amounted to a series of matches. Maybe they quite literally just wanted to see them wrestle for the sake of wrestling for a few months. Weird. But The Usos heading into WrestleMania season with the tag team titles makes perfect sense. I'd watch out for two members of The Vision to win them next.
As far as the other stories, it's great to see Penta back, I hope Dom is able to heal up very quickly, and all three of Femi, Evans, and Williams are more than ready to join the main roster. NXT would be gutted to lose them all, but Raw and SmackDown are more important, so as long as WWE has something in mind to properly push them for a sustained amount of time, I'm down for them making the transition. The whole roster needs a draft, though—not just these guys going to the red or blue brand alone.
