It's been revealed that former WWE Champion Randy Orton returned to action during a non-televised WWE Live event in Glenn Falls, New York, last night. He battled Aleister Black in a singles match which saw the NXT call up pick up the 1-2-3.

There's been a lot of speculation that Orton will be Black's opponent at Extreme Rules and their identity will actually be revealed on SmackDown Live tonight.

Orton hasn't worked a match since June 10th when he also squared off against Black. It's said that reports of a neck injury may be incorrect and that The Viper has actually asked fro some time off. The last time he was seen on WWE programming was at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia when he defeated Triple H.

Are you hoping we get to see Orton vs. Black at Extreme Rules this Sunday?
