Rhea Ripley may be one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, but in a recent interview, the former NXT Women's Champion explained why she'd love the opportunity to return to the developmental brand.

Rhea Ripley is currently one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, but seeing as she and Nikki A.S.H. are the last female tag team left standing after this year's Draft, she might not have much to do on RAW in the weeks to come.

Unfortunately, this division has always been a bottom priority for WWE, but the hope is that Ripley and Nikki can elevate the titles to some extent. However, for the former NXT and RAW Women's Champion, it sounds like a return to NXT would definitely be of interest to her down the line...even if Ripley isn't convinced her style would be a good match for the colourful NXT 2.0!

Asked about the possibility, Ripley said: "I would love to. Honestly, I miss NXT. Right now, how it’s all changed, I don’t know if I would really fit in. When it was the metal scene and very grungy, I loved NXT. I’m not saying the one now is bad or anything, but it’s definitely more for the up-and-comers, and everyone is trying to make a name for themselves."

"But, saying that, I would definitely go back in a heartbeat, especially to help my girl, Raquel Gonzalez," Ripley continued. "I don’t like the way she gets jumped. I got her back."

Ripley has fared better than most on the main roster, and it's definitely hard to imagine her being able to make the same impact in NXT 2.0 that she did in NXT. WWE has moved on from that era of the show, and the focus now is Vince McMahon's big, prototype wrestlers rather than the indie stars who made the brand a phenomenon in the mid-2010s.
