During this week's episode of WWE's The Bump, former RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Champion Sheamus talked about his time competing alongside Sheamus as part of The Bar. As well as weighing in on how much fun they had together, The Celtic Warrior talked about realising when it was time to end their partnership.
"I've been in the WWE for a very long time. I have had a successful career," Sheamus stated. "What can be a blessing can also be a curse. The last couple of years with Cesaro was a lot of fun. I had so much fun with The Bar. We had five WWE tag team championships wins."
"You know, it came to a point where everything we did, the legacy we created, we kind of ran out of rope," he continued. "We were getting pancakes shoved in our faces and getting hit in the head with turkeys. At WrestleMania, we lost to a 12-year-old. The writing was on the wall."
Sheamus went on to talk about getting a bad concussion at WrestleMania and then realising that he needed to go back to the drawing board and get into the best shape of his WWE career ahead of his in-ring return during an episode of SmackDown last month.
Do you guys think it was the right time to end The Bar's partnership after the low points Sheamus refers to here?
