During last night's SmackDown, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and United States Champion Logan Paul met to sign a contract for their title match at King and Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia.
However, we learned that Paul had brought his own contract after refusing to defend his title at the PLE. Now, the match will only be for Rhodes' belt, a strange move when WWE had begun teasing plans for the American Nightmare to become a Grand Slam Champion.
Still, the last thing SmackDown needed was for Rhodes to hold two singles titles (that's a little too much like what happened with Roman Reigns), so this may ultimately be for the best.
The King and Queen of the Ring tournament also continued, though the results have largely disappointed fans.
Bianca Belair defeated rising star Tiffany Stratton to advance, while Nia Jax beat Jade Cargill by disqualification after the latter hit the heel with a steel chair in retaliation for an attempted ringside attack. To that, fans in the building chanted, "Bullsh*t."
On the men's side, Tama Tonga beat LA Knight and Randy Orton overcame Carmela Hayes with an RKO Outta Nowhere, setting the stage for the expected semifinal match.
Over on RAW this Monday, Gunther vs. Jey Uso will decide who advances to the final match against either Orton or Tonga. Then, it's Iyo Sky vs. Lyra Valkyria to decide who faces either Belair or Jax.
