The Brothers of Destruction are one of the most iconic tag teams in pro wrestling history. Of course, they weren't always allies as Kane was originally introduced as The Undertaker's deranged half-brother.

It was eventually explained - and later largely forgotten - that The Undertaker and Kane have the same mother, with legendary manager Paul Bearer named as the Big Red Monster's father.

In reality, they're not related but remain good friends after retiring from in-ring action.

In a far-ranging interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Undertaker talked about many fans still believing he and Kane are legitimately related. Here's his recollection of what sounds like a pretty common conversation with people he bumps into:

"I get asked all the time. All the time. 'Hey, where’s your brother?'

I say, 'He’s a mayor now.'

'What? Shut up, really...?'

'Yeah, Kane. Yeah, he’s the mayor in Knox County.'

'No way!'

'Yeah.'

'Y'all really brothers, right?'

'Oh yeah, half brothers.' I always clarify, 'We’re half brothers.'"

Elsewhere in the conversation, the Phenom looked back at his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in 2015. During that, The Beast sat up and laughed in The Undertaker's face, an unforgettable moment which has since become an oft-used meme among wrestling fans.

"That was Brock. So we talked a little bit about that match and he ran it by me but I don’t think I was paying enough attention to what he really wanted to do. So when he did it, I was almost taken aback a little bit like what the freaking hell are you laughing at that? And then it kind of dawned on me what he was doing."

"Then I laugh back at him and it’s yeah, it’s become kind of an iconic deal but yeah, if I’d have been paying close enough attention I’d probably go, 'Yeah, I don’t know if I want to do that.' But the way it worked, it worked out worked out fine. Fortunately, too it was at the tail end of my career and not in the middle or the front end of it because that surely wouldn’t happen then. But I think for the time period, it worked out okay."

Since deciding to hang up his wrestling boots, The Undertaker hasn't shied away from looking back at his legendary career and now spills the beans on subjects he'd have once guarded with his life in the name of kayfabe.
