It's been revealed today that The Wyatt Sicks will reunite for the first time since WWE released them on April 24 at the upcoming WrestleCon event taking place this summer.
All five members of the faction will appear at the three-day convention running from July 31 through August 2 during SummerSlam weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Whether this is an indication they intend to work together moving forward isn't clear, but the five former WWE Superstars will be taking photos with fans as a group.
Chances are they will go their separate ways down the line, but for now, it makes sense to capitalise on their popularity as The Wyatt Sicks (especially as many fans have been critical of their release).
The appearance will feature Bo Dallas under the name Taylor Rotunda, Nikki Cross as Nikki Storm, Dexter Lumis back to Samuel Shaw, Erick Rowan using Erick Redbeard, and Joe Gacy performing as Joseph Sawyer.
"It was just felt that the group had run its course. Even at first there were those who saw it as a short-term idea," Dave Meltzer previously said of the team's release. "It was basically a tribute to Bray Wyatt and was over big at first but it was limiting how they could be used with that gimmick over the long haul."
"The feeling was they got all out of the Wyatts they were going to get and Black and Vega was just a decision made on who they weren’t going to do anything more with," Meltzer added. "The reality is that even though they recruited Black hard to get out of AEW, once he returned, they really didn’t have much in the way of ideas for him."
"Regarding the story that the Wyatts and Black were released because TKO didn’t like dark characters, we were told that was ‘bullshit’ and that these were not decisions that even reached that level," he continued, dismissing recent online rumours. "[AEW President Tony Khan] did negotiate with Zelina when she was let go the last time, but she pretty much ghosted him and signed back."
Hopefully, we'll have news on some wrestling bookings soon. It also likely won't be long until they're free to discuss the circumstances surrounding their latest WWE run and how the company went about firing them.
