There's A LOT OF Confusion In WWE About What The Winner Of MONEY IN THE BANK Will Actually Win This Year

There's a lot of confusion among fans about what the winners of this year's Money in the Bank ladder matches will actually receive, but WWE's creative team is said to be every bit as perplexed right now...

During WrestleMania Backlash, a commercial aired for Money in the Bank with Cody Rhodes revealing that the winners of each ladder match would get the chance to main event WrestleMania.

That's quite the contrast to how the Money in the Bank briefcase typically works as the idea is that whoever has that can "cash in" whenever they choose. In the past, we've seen winners of the ladder match announce their desire for a title match, while others have selected the perfect time for a championship match, taking advantage of a weakened champion to score an easy win.

This also leaves some confusion about what the winner of the Royal Rumble matches would get next year, but with Money in the Bank a stadium show, WWE is looking to sell a lot of tickets.

It's not just fans who are confused, though, as Dave Meltzer shared an update in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. "The only direct company word regarding that question was there is nothing definitive either way," he said of what the winners will actually receive. "Another person said that Vince has plans already in place for the top matches at Mania and the winners of MITB in the title matches wouldn’t be that, although that commercial aired three times without an edit."

Other reports suggest WWE's creative team is similarly baffled by the wording in that commercial, and no one in the company has offered any clarification during recent television broadcasts.

They have plenty of time to decide, though, as Hell in a Cell takes place on June 5 and Money in the Bank isn't scheduled until July 2. Hopefully, we'll have more details to share with you soon!
