Next year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place after SmackDown on April 5 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While the event has been a little more low-key since the pandemic, it's something a lot of fans still look forward to and is always fun to watch (aside from when the speeches run long).
Despite there not being a physical WWE Hall of Fame, being inducted still means a great deal to pro wrestling personalities. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, 2024 is going to mark the first time WWE's Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque is fully in charge of the inductions.
While some of the "basic rules" will still apply when it comes to who is inducted (a female, a person a color, a celebrity, etc.), Dave Meltzer believes The Game "may be a little more open" to expanding that because he's more aware of what happens outside of WWE and a longtime pro wrestling fan.
Nick Khan may have some input, though all signs point to Triple H having the final say.
It's currently a little too soon for any rumoured names to do the rounds, though WWE has started selling merchandise for Ken Shamrock, so he's a likely contender. ECW could also factor into the event seeing as WrestleMania hails from Philadelphia. We have to believe the likes of Demolition and Lex Luger are also possibilities.
During this year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, Rey Mysterio, Stacy Keibler, the late Andy Kaufman, and The Great Muta were all inducted, while former referee Tim White was the posthumous recipient of the Warrior Award.
The WWE Hall of Fame is an annual ceremony that honours professional wrestling personalities. Established in 1993 by WWE, it recognizes and celebrates the achievements of notable individuals within the industry. Inductees include wrestlers, managers, announcers, and other significant contributors (and some not-so-significant personalities when we delve into that celebrity wing).
The induction ceremony takes place during WrestleMania weekend, featuring speeches and presentations by fellow wrestling personalities. The Hall of Fame serves to commemorate the rich history of professional wrestling and acknowledges the impact of those who have made lasting contributions to the sport.
Notable inductees include iconic figures like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and managers like Paul Bearer and Bobby Heenan, cementing their legacies in the annals of wrestling history.
