Yesterday, news broke that WWE has been acquired by UFC owner Endeavor. Vince McMahon claimed he wouldn't be getting "into the weeds" in terms of creative but, unsurprisingly, may have already broken his word.
PWInsider is reporting that Vince was "personally and heavily involved" with last night's RAW after WrestleMania, and ordered "a number of late rewrites" for the show around 15 - 20 minutes before it went on the air. This shocked those backstage as it hasn't been the norm under Triple H's regime, and it's understandably led to a "negative shift in morale."
It sounds a little like McMahon might have even taken over from The Game, with one source saying the "place felt nuked." The feeling now is he will soon be "overseeing everything again" as the man in charge of WWE creative.
This was to be expected in many ways, and it could explain why last night's RAW felt like such an underwhelming effort. From promising a massive main event that never happened to random segments with Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley that felt like they were thrown together at the last moment, it wasn't a good show.
Fightful has added that original plans called for there to be a small tournament deciding Bianca Belair's new challenger for the RAW Women's Championship. Omos vs. Elias also wasn't the original plan and with the show being rewritten on the fly, it's possible Vince also decided to have Brock turn heel.
God forbid a former AEW star dethrone Roman Reigns, eh?
Below are a couple of the biggest moments from Vince's RAW return:
