The last time we saw Drew McIntyre compete in a WWE ring was when he failed to defeat Gunther and Sheamus for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania.
The Scottish Superstar has been a tad directionless for a while, especially after a loss to Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff last September robbed him of the momentum he'd gained as a babyface. Recently, we've heard that his WWE contract is nearly at an end and that McIntyre now intends to leave the company.
That was recently countered with a story claiming McIntyre has been dealing with some nagging injuries for a while and, in reality, he's actually going to remain under contract with WWE until early 2024.
Despite that, speculation continues to run rampant online that McIntyre will make his AEW debut at this August's All In PPV in London's Wembley Stadium.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared yet another update on the situation, making it clear that there's no way the former WWE Champion will be leaving WWE that soon. He reiterates that McIntyre's deal doesn't expire until months after All In and that closes the door on him showing up anywhere else until well into 2024.
Plus, with McIntyre on the shelf with various injuries, there's a good chance that time will be added to his deal.
An appearance at Wembley would result in a huge pop, but it simply isn't going to happen!
Something tells us WWE will probably find a way to make this right and give McIntyre what he wants, whether it's money or creative plans he can get on board with. Simply put, the former WWE Champion is too big of a star to lose, especially to a rival company such as AEW that's once again started regaining its momentum lately.
