With Roman Reigns Vs. The Rock In Jeopardy, WWE Makes Some MAJOR Changes To WRESTLEMANIA 38

It's already been confirmed that next year's WrestleMania will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, but it seems WWE is looking to make a big change to the PPV.

According to Fightful Select, the plan now is for the Show of Shows to once again be a two-night event, held over that Sunday and Saturday, April 2. WWE saw a surge in viewership for a two-night version when WrestleMania was held in the empty Performance Center last year and doubled the gate by doing the same in front of fans back in April.

However, this WrestleMania would be the first two to be held over two nights with a full-capacity crowd.

In related news, it sounds like Roman Reigns vs. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson won't take place as planned in 2022. It seems WWE wants to have the match take place in Los Angeles, and Dave Meltzer shared an update during a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

"[Lesnar] being brought back was a reaction to Punk," he said (via WrestlingNews.co). "That’s what it was because it was a last minute call. I’m presuming today that [Lesnar vs. Reigns is for] next year’s WrestleMania. That’s what I’m presuming today because Dwayne Johnson is probably not – you know, that’s up to Dwayne Johnson, I mean next year’s WrestleMania. When he wants to wrestle and when his schedule is cleared, that’s when he’s gonna wrestle."

It sounds like Lesnar vs. Reigns is now the plan for WrestleMania, but Meltzer added: "Everything is up in the air. From a money standpoint, yes you can do [Lesnar vs. Reigns] in Saudi Arabia."

We'll have to wait and see, but it's clear big changes are coming to the Showcase of the Immortals...

It makes sense to have Roman vs Rock at WM Hollywood but I have no idea how they're gonna stretch out Roman's story for two and a half more years. He can only be doing this for so long before everyone gets tired of it and we all know WWE aint the greatest at long term storytelling.
