WWE held Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last night, and the show kicked off with Seth Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins.
It was a fantastic back-and-forth bout and one which ended with a series of near-falls. However, after McIntyre missed a Claymore, Rollins used a Pedigree and Stomp to secure the 1-2-3. With that, Damian Priest made his way to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, only to be foiled by Sami Zayn.
There was some good news for The Judgement Day, though, as Rhea Ripley retained the Women's World Championship by defeating Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. Mami held on to her title after hitting Stark with the Riptide, slamming her onto Rodriguez and Baszler before pinning the latter.
John Cena vs. Solo Sikoa was up next. While we all thought the Leader of the Cenation was guaranteed to end his losing streak, Solo instead picked up the shock win, but only after hitting the fan-favourite babyface with several Samoan Spikes. After receiving a standing ovation from fans, Cena has since taken to social media to tease his retirement.
"The Miz TV" saw The Miz welcome Saudi Arabian celebrity Ibrahim Al Hajaj for what ended up being a Grayson Waller beatdown, but it's Logan Paul who will likely be making the majority of headlines this week. He was victorious over Rey Mysterio and became United States Champion thanks to his patented knockout punch.
Kairi Sane made her long-awaited WWE return to help IYO SKY retain the Women's Championship over Bianca Belair, leaving Bayley visibly concerned.
Cody Rhodes, meanwhile, was victorious over Priest, putting him back on track to finish the story at WrestleMania next year.
Then, it was main event time. Roman Reigns put the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against LA Knight in what proved to be a star-making performance from the red-hot babyface. There was a tonne of outside interference from Solo and Jimmy Uso, and while Knight came close to winning the title, he was overcome by the numbers game, allowing the Tribal Chief to retain the belt with a Spear.
