The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for January 3, 2020 took place at the FedExForum in Memphis, TN.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Triple Threat Match: Lacey Evans and Dana Brooke defeated both Bayley and Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross by pinfall.
— Backstage, Kofi Kingston and Big E tried to cheer up The Miz by bringing him some pancakes and reminding him that he is tied with Kingston for the most title reigns this past decade. This upset The Miz and he challenged Kingston to a match for later.
— Elias sang a song making fun of some heels like Sami Zayn and Dolph Ziggler before saying he will be in the 2020 Royal Rumble.
— Backstage, Shorty G tried to give The Revival a pep talk about not letting anyone's criticism get to them, but they just teased him about his height and challenged him to a match.
— Shorty G defeated Dash Wilder by submission. The Revival attacked Gable after the match. Sheamus came out and The Revival left the ring, but instead of helping Gable, Sheamus hit him with a Brogue Kick.
— Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz by pinfall. The Miz then attacked Kofi after the match out of anger.
— Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns talked to Cathy Kelley about how Bryan plans to win the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble and Reigns plans to win the Royal Rumble, so if that happens, they will fight for the title at WrestleMania.
— John Morrison came out of The Miz's dressing room to tell Cathy Kelley that The Miz had nothing else to say for the night.
— Otis defeated Drew Gulak by pinfall.
— Braun Strowman defeated Cesaro by pinfall.
— Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan defeated King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler by disqualification when The Fiend attacked Bryan. Then, Ziggler and Corbin tried to team up on Reigns after the match and The Big Dog was saved by The Usos making their return.
