This Thursday, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg challenges The Fiend for the Universal Championship, but his last Super ShowDown match was something of a disaster. That saw the WCW Legend square off with The Undertaker, but after an early concussion, the match soon fell apart.
Now, Goldberg has weighed in on what went wrong. "My match with Taker was the perfect storm with no good," he says. "At the end of the day, I was not in the ring for two years. It was 150 degrees. Undertaker and I never worked together before."
"I had to deal with it and it was only my fault because I went too hard," he said of the corner spot which left him concussed. "You can’t fault me for it because I wanted to give the best show possible, I wanted to make my family and fans proud. I wanted to complete a dream of my and have a good match with Taker, but it doesn’t always turn out the way you want."
"Everybody in the world saw it… but hey, what match defies a human being? For two weeks I felt bad about it, and I think Taker and I should get a pat on the back for putting ourselves out there at our age and doing the things that we do to entertain the people."
The match was panned, but it was ultimately out of the control of both men. The Undertaker looked visibly annoyed by the time the bell rang, but accidents happen, and it's hard not to hope we don't get to see a rematch somewhere down the line.
What do you guys think?
