What do you do when you've planned an event in a part of the world still "governed" by an oppressive, merciless regime that recently murdered a journalist (allegedly)? If you're WWE, you move forward with the show anyway but remove all mention of said location from listings and social media.

The Crown Jewel event on November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has been taken down from the WWE website's calendar of events, but while the company hasn't released an official statement on the matter, the show is still expected to go ahead.

WWE has already come under fire for holding events in Saudi Arabia due to the fact that female Superstars are not permitted to perform, but the backlash has intensified since the disappearance and presumed murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

We'll see how things play out, but many WWE fans will be hoping Vince McMahon and his shareholders do the right thing here and hold the event somewhere else.
