WWE Reportedly Has No Plans To Release Mustafa Ali Following His Recent Request

Earlier this week, Mustafa Ali became the latest WWE Superstar to take to social media to request his release. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and in the case of the former leader of Retribution, it appears he's all out of luck.

According to Fightful Select, WWE currently has no plans to release him. The two sides have reportedly spoken, with the company making it clear they won't be granting his request. It sounds like Ali still has a few years left on his current contract, so he could find himself trapped there for the foreseeable future.

The one-time 205 Live star hasn't been used on television for two months and it sounds like he's taken issue with WWE's plans for him (which might have involved a racial stereotype gimmick).

Needless to say, the company probably doesn't want him making headlines by recalling some of his recent conversations with Vince McMahon...especially when that's said to have involved a heated argument. The term "value" was brought up during these discussions, and we're guessing both sides see very different value in Ali as a draw. He's never been given a chance to prove himself, though.

We don't know for sure why WWE won't release him, especially after the past couple of years of mass firing, but keep checking back here for all the latest updates.
