May is shaping up to be a busy month for WWE, with Saturday Night's Main Event and Clash in Italy fast approaching. It likely won't surprise you then that the rumor mill has gone into overdrive.
Today, we have updates on plans for Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, and Stephanie Vaquer, along with updates on everyone from Jade Cargill to Mick Foley and former WWE Superstar JC Mateo.
Check out these latest WWE rumors below, but be warned that you may find some potential spoilers...
- For what it's worth, former WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler has defended Ronda Rousey against claims that her MVP MMA 1 fight against Gina Carano was a work. "If you want to know how fast the memory of MMA fans gets erased, 17 seconds isn’t even her fastest win, and people think it was worked, lol. What about her :14 win over Zigano? Or her :16 win over Davis? Or her other 5 wins under :30? Or her 9 total wins under a minute?" she wrote on X.
- Following his shocking return during last night's RAW, it's being widely reported that the plan is, as expected, for Brock Lesnar to face Oba Femi at Clash in Italy later this month.
- Several outlets are reporting that Baron Corbin (a.k.a. Bishop Dyer) is set for a WWE return. The prevailing theory right now is that he could be whatever it was we saw Danhausen creating on SmackDown last week, pointing to a comedy role for the King of the Ring winner.
- PWInsider has learned that former Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is expected to return to WWE by the time Clash in Italy takes place on May 31.
- Following claims that Jade Cargill had heat backstage, @WrestleVotes has now learned that executives in WWE are happy with the progress she's been making and still view her as a top star.
- Women's United States Champion Tiffany Stratton took to Twitch to deny rumours that a wrestler, previously theorised to be Giovanni Vinci, was fired from WWE due to flirting with her.
- Following his WWE release, Jeff Cobb (JC Mateo) has reportedly been spotted backstage at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku. WWE's 90-day non-compete means we can likely rule him out of this year's G1 tournament, but Dave Meltzer believes Cobb's "chances of going to AEW as a star were much higher one year ago."
- Following reports that AEW is interested in working with Mick Foley once his current WWE deal ends, Meltzer has shared his belief that the Hardcore Legend may indeed be looking to do something with the promotion. This comes after he expressed a desire to sever ties with WWE due to the company's close association with President Donald Trump.
