As you may have heard, the Washington Post recently broke a story in which it was revealed that a Saudi journalist who was critical of the country's leaders disappeared after visiting the consolute in Turkey earlier this week. Since then, it's been widely speculated that the Saudi Arabian government has secretly imprisoned or executed him and there's a lot of backlash aimed at WWE as a result.

AMC Theaters is also coming under fire for their plans to open a number of cinemas there, while talent agency WME has decided to put all its dealings with the country on hold for the foreseeable future.

Now, with Fox News posting a story on Crown Jewel and noting that WWE is facing criticism for its $45 million a year deal with Saudi Arabia, it appears as if the PPV is in doubt and may not end up happening. It all depends on how things pan out over the coming weeks but WWE doesn't have long to make a decision and we know from past experience that the company hates any PR nightmares.
