While All Elite Wrestling has become a great alternative for wrestling fans unhappy with the WWE product, it doesn't seem unfair to say that Dynamite is lacking polish. That's understandable when it's still such a new company, of course, but another main event botch has drawn a great deal of criticism from fans on social media since Blood and Guts aired on TNT last night.
At Revolution, the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match ended with a whimper instead of a bang (literally) after an explosion failed to go off and Eddie Kingston (who had come to protect his friend Jon Moxley) sold a few sparklers and a bang about as loud as a car backfiring like he'd just been shot. It was widely ridiculed online, and now the same can be said for this event.
After Chris Jericho was thrown from the top of the cage, he landed on the stage below. That's solid steel, so the spot was clearly meant to be a devastating one, hence why Sammy Guevara threw in the towel in a bid to stop MJF from sending Jericho flying.
Unfortunately, the stage was rigged in a way so that when Jericho fell...well, you could quite clearly see the crash mat and padding below. While it was right to put that there (we certainly didn't need another incident like Matt Hardy landing on concrete), there were surely better ways to disguise it.
Now, the match has been tainted and is likely to be remembered more for this terrible final visual than anything else. NXT Superstar Shotzi Blackheart has even taken to Twitter to make fun of it!
