Watching All Elite Wrestling, it's become clear that not every character on the show is a heel or babyface. There are some who definitely fall into one category or the other, but for the most part, many of the company's stars just portrayed versions of themselves who have just had the volume turned up.
That's arguably the case with AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes, and during his recent title defences, he's neither been heel nor babyface.
Former WWE Superstar Disco Inferno asked on Twitter which role Rhodes fits into, stating: "Is Cody Rhodes a heel? This is like the old school angle where you have a list of worthy contenders and they are just a bunch of indy workers that don’t even work for the company. #warhorse."
That led to Rhodes responding, and it was then he made it clear he is ultimately neither. Instead, he wants the fans to decide who they cheer or boo for.
