Rebel faced-off against AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida on AEW Dynamite this week ahead of Britt Baker's title shot at Double or Nothing, and while the champ emerged victorious, The Doctor gained a measure of revenge by attacking Shida after the match and delivering her own version of a Curb Stomp right on the championship belt.
Of course, this is a move WWE's Seth Rollins has been using as his finisher for many years, and some fans were quick to accuse Baker of "stealing" the maneuver on social media.
Wrestlers use each other's moves all the time (Rollins was hardly the first to use the Curb Stomp), so this is obviously ridiculous. That said, there is an unwritten rule in the business that if you do want to utilize a signature move that's still part of another active performer's repertoire, the respectful thing to do is ask permission.
Maybe Baker did reach out to Rollins, but even if she didn't, it's not a big deal. After all, the one-time Monday Night Messiah recently began using Low Ki's Shining Wizard feign kick, and clearly didn't ask the notoriously grouchy indie wrestler's permission first!
What do you guys make of Baker adding the Curb Stomp to her arsenal? Check out the move in action below.
