The Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak is the stuff of legend, and something most fans genuinely believed would last right up until The Deadman retired. Of course, Brock Lesnar infamously ended "The Streak" at 'Mania 30 amid a flood of controversy.
Fans were angry enough when The Beast defeated 'Taker at WrestleMania... can you imagine if it was Ryback?
During his latest YouTube stream, AEW's Chris Jericho had high praise for The Big Guy, and revealed that he was originally supposed to work with him at WrestleMania 29 instead of Fandango until Vince McMahon changed his mind. Le Champion also suggested that Ryback should be the man to break The Phenom's Streak.
“There was a time when Ryback was so popular, that I suggested he should be the guy that beats the Undertaker. He’s the one. And it didn’t go that way, and sometimes there’s complaints about his work. I loved working with Ryback. I did a bunch of house shows with him in Calgary and we had great matches. So really, really a big fan of Ryback.”
There's no denying that Ryback was over for a time, and definitely could have been a much bigger star if utilized to his full potential. But beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania to end The Streak? Ehhh, no.
What do you guys make of Jericho's comments?
