It feels so f*cking good to say this: CM Punk is back.

After seven long years away from pro-wrestling, "The Best in the World" returned to kick off tonight's episode of All Elite Wrestling: Rampage to a deafening reception from his hometown crowd in Chicago. Making his way to the ring to the familiar strains of Living Color's "Cult of Personality," Punk grabbed a mic and addressed his legions of fans.

There were no major "pipe bombs," as such, and the former WWE Champion didn't run down his old promotion to any great extent - though he did infer that his time there wasn't exactly the most creatively fulfilling. Punk then told the crowd that he returned for them ("I returned for me, too!"), before officially challenging Darby Allin to a match at All Out next month.

We don't need to tell you how big a deal CM Punk's return is, and depending on how he's utilized in AEW moving forward, he could potentially catapult the promotion to the next level and help them emerge as real competition to WWE.

Punk will be on AEW: Dynamite next Wednesday, so be sure to tune in.
