CM Punk's AEW Locker Room Issues Reportedly "Not Settled," But He Is Still Expected To Return

Some more updates on the AEW/CM Punk saga here, and it sounds like the "Best in the World" is indeed heading back to the company... whether the other wresters in the locker room like it or not!

Following on from last night's report that "tentative plans" are in place for CM Punk to make his long-awaited return to AEW in Chicago for the Dynamite/Rampage go-home shows before Forbidden Door, we have an update from another source.

It seems that, yes, the "Best in the World" is indeed heading back to the company... whether the other wresters in the locker room like it or not!

“A Punk return is largely expected. It’s a tenuous situation because the dressing room issues involving him have not been settled at all at press time," notes Dave Meltzer (via WrestlingPurists). "The working idea was that the Saturday show would star Punk and that they would split crews to a large degree.”

If this rumored third AEW show does materialize, making Punk the top guy on that programme and surrounding him only with people who don't have an issue with him would seem like a smart play, but surely Tony Khan can convince The Elite to work with him? If not, a lot of money would be left on the table.

We're expecting more updates on this situation soon (short of an official announcement), so keep an eye on The Ring Report for more.
