Jon Moxley Retains The AEW Championship At FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN When Taz Throws In The Towel

The main event of AEW's special Fight For the Fallen show saw Jon Moxley defend his AEW Championship against Brian Cage, and the match was every bit as physical as you'd expect.

Before the bout, Mox called his shot and told Cage that he'd be targeting the surgically repaired arm which kept him on the shelf for 5 months in the buildup to his AEW debut. The Purveyor of Violence did just that, and threw his more powerful opponent off his game completely.

While The Machine was still able to lay a brutal beat-down on the champ, Mox stayed on his game plan, and when Cage kicked out of the Paradigm Shift, Jon locked on an armbar and cinched it in deep. Cage struggled, but it was clear that he was never going to be able to break the hold, and Taz decided to throw in the towel rather than see his meal ticket back on the shelf.

This was a pretty good way of keeping Cage strong in defeat, but it does still dull his momentum somewhat.
